Thanksgiving Rain
Lighter than air and sweet as a prayer,
I know that it’s there: Thanksgiving Rain.
Blessings release what worry cannot.
Far above falling come joys I forgot.
Mingled with tears runs undeserved grace.
The depth of this fathom sends cheer to my face.
I stand in the downpour, amazed by His love
As Thanksgiving Rain cascades from above.

A note about the photo: I could hear the waterfall. The park signs told us it was in the area, and yet it took a bit of searching to find this beauty. I was thrilled when I finally spotted it. My family and I were visiting the Quinault Rain Forest in Olympic National Park, Washington. We barely scratched the surface during our short time there, but even so, what a breath-taking place! I loved being able to experience a “real” autumn, since there isn’t much of one in the Arizona valley.
You can’t see the Source of the waterfall in this picture, but the evidence is abundant. I love how Creation always points back to its Creator like this.
